Chapter 3 africa theme? GIVE US SPEARS!
This should be an absolutely no brainer!
Its just hard for me to imagine a world without spears! its the most ancient of modern weapons and yet anet seems to have no want for them.
Some kind of spear melee class (or heck, even spear ranged class) would be a great addition... (though its even harder to imagine a ranged version, since he would have multiple spears duplicating out of thin air to throw O_o)
And just thing how cool the skins could become! and not all of them have to be ACTUAL spears, maybe stuff close to spear-type weapons... like...
Great Spear
Demonic Spear
Tidal Trident? its a spear-ish weapon, stabs and can be thrown O.o
the possibilities are just as much as swords, axes, etc. and heck, a nice cool 32 dmg (around that area) would be great too (since obviously they would be 2 handed if used as a melee class.
Heck o.o it could be the first class to truely become melee and/or ranged.
attributes
Melee Spear
Ranged Spear
Spear Mastery
and not to make it ALL about spears, add 2 more attributes of w/e the anet team can come up with.
just ideas I am throwing out, as said, just trying to figure out spear chucking would be a bit odd.
Not to mention it would just be kinda stupid if they didnt... I mean come on.
If they gave us katanas in an asian theme, why not spears for africa? e.e

but back on track!
SPEARS PEOPLE SPEARS! e.e I want a bad-ass spear!

Kryta is rather african theme like IMO. I agree that a spear is an interesting weapon for a new class, but I think something more like an Egyptian theme would be way better then an african theme. Egyptian/Aztec type style and buildings, Pharoh hood armor, alot of ancient egyptian pictures showed guards with spears.

I am definately expecting spears for Chapter 3. I would be very surprised if there weren't any. Thinking that it will be a Skirmisher-type class. Maybe like 75 max armor, a medium between Warrior and Assassin. Then they could continue development during other upcoming Chapters like a Roman one. Could have some Dragoon-ish stuff too. Don't really like the idea of both ranged and melee spears, though, since they'd have to be two completely separate weapon types, yet very similar in idea.

You seem a little bit too excited. But from what I know there will be a dual bladed staff wielding class and perhaps a bare knuckle fighter class. (Read from an article)

/signed for spears, although they should definately make spears from Cantha (Asian style spears are so much cooler than African ones)
Please NO bones/tattooes/more ritualist style armor. Tarzan style armor would be incredibly gay as well, we need real armor..
Rhinos and lions would make nice pets.

i want to see girraffes as a pet, maybe a hippo or a rhino.

I see two handed spear for melee and 1 handed for throwing, obviously throwing goes slower and deals less damage (?). But do you have to pick up the spear you threw?

Everything I've read suggests *north africa* also known as middle east, savannahs at the most. I've heard about turbans and veils, and seen no indications of lush jungles or thatched huts.

Why not just have throwing the spears be done by skills?

If we are having spears, then theme it Classic Greece.
To be honest though I cannot see what possible role spears/spearmen could have in the game.
It would be nice from an RPG point of view, but spearmen have always been the most defensive minded of battlefield troops. How could you make the class concept work in GW (in reality, PvP)?. And no elemental style ranged spear throws, or barbarian warrior charges, they just dont fit, and the spearmen needs a niche of his own, slow moving defensive formations in real life.
I cant see anet getting it working, but if they do, hell yeah ill be in favour.
